Pentagon: USA lags behind China in artificial intelligence
According to the reports of Western intelligence agencies, China, which has the second largest economy in the world, can establish global dominance in about a decade, especially in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, synthetic biology and genetics.https://60300703b3813c610d0c5144d2a02ba7.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html
Nicolas Chaillan, who resigned from his position as chief software officer at the US defense ministry to protest the US military’s slowness in technological transformation, said in a statement to the Financial Times that the failure of the technological breakthrough put the US in danger.
Chaillan said, “We will not have a chance to fight against China in 15-20 years. At the moment, the job is already done,” he said.
The former cybersecurity chief stated that China is moving towards dominating the future of the world, controlling everything from the media to geopolitics.
Chaillan blamed the slow pace of technological innovation, the reluctance of companies like Google to cooperate with the government in the field of artificial intelligence, and ethical debates in technology.
Chaillan stated that Chinese companies have an obligation to work with their own state and that they have made huge investments in artificial intelligence, regardless of ethical discussions, and stated that the cyber defense of some of the US government departments is at the “kindergarten level”.
Chaillan stated that military officials constantly assign inexperienced people in the cyber field, and announced his resignation at the beginning of September.
